fantasy house portraits

Information for workshop participants coming to the house portrait classes...

we will begin with a photo of your house, or some other building that you wish to design. You will need to bring a minimum 8x10 photograph or print out of your house. Try to print it out on card stock if at all possible. If it prints out on a couple of different pages, that's great, too! These photos will be glued down onto masonite panels and collaged with magazine cutouts, etc. You can also bring photos from other structures that you might like to add to your original, such as columns, stairs, a front porch, or some fabulous addition like a sunroom or gazebo. Scale is important so look for photos that are larger, 3x5 to 4x6 range, rather than too small. Larger photos will create the foreground and middle ground, smaller ones create the background. don't worry if all of this sounds overwhelming, I will teach you all about scale and perspective in the class.
